Savings account.

Of all the initiatives I worked on at Alpian, this one stands out. It was the first project I led end to end: a long-awaited feature that brought real value to users and drove strong business growth.

The company

Alpian is Switzerland's first digital private bank: a mobile-first experience that combines everyday banking with personalised investment and private banking services.

The problem

To raise client engagement and assets under management, the business identified a key missing feature: a savings account, where clients set money aside, work toward goals and earn interest, creating value for both users and the bank.

The goal

Design a seamless savings feature that lets users put money aside effortlessly while working toward their financial goals.

My role

I led UX and UI: gathering business requirements, wireframing, refining into high-fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes, and presenting solutions to the business.

Exploration

First iterations

The initiative started with several stakeholder sessions to dig into the problem space, clarifying business goals and user pain points. That let me sharpen the scope and develop proposals, iterating on them until the first MVP was validated.

Mid-fidelity prototype

An early version covered a full happy path across several flows, to validate key interactions and journeys. The final version was then reduced to the essentials needed for the MVP and the business deadline.

Takeaways

Takeaways

  1. End-to-end ownership

Led UX/UI from concept to high-fidelity prototypes, delivering a seamless mobile experience that makes saving effortless.

  2. A feature that moves the business

Designed a crucial feature that drives engagement and grows funds under management, contributing directly to business growth.

  3. Requirements into flows

Worked with stakeholders to turn business requirements into intuitive wireframes and prototypes aligned with user needs.

What I learned

Bringing savings into a private banking experience meant balancing simplicity with financial empowerment. Users value trust and transparency in financial products, so I focused on the clarity of both the UX writing and the visual design.

Early alignment between stakeholders, and continuous feedback, helped shape a feature that met both business and user needs.
